Does your architectural layout work from a Civil Engineering prospective? Are you missing potential property line dedications? Does the Public Sewer and Water infrastructure have capacity? Are you exporting too much soil? Sometimes these questions are better off answered very early in a project.
Does your project need Planning Department Entitlement? We will provide the necessary exhibits, calculations, and expertise to help. A Civil Engineer is an important attendee to your Case Management Meeting.
Make sure your construction site is equipped with all necessary Best Management Practices to satisfy State and Local requirements.
Preparation of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and administrative requirements with the State Waterboard and CASQA.
Coordinating Geotechnical requirements and Structural foundation design to show remedial grading, pad elevations, temporary excavation methods, and cut / fill / import / export volumes. Important for cost, Haul Route requirements, and Hillside Grading developments.
Down to the tenth of an inch to make sure there are no issues during permitting and construction related to site ADA path of travel, slope requirements, elevation tie-ins, and stormwater drainage. No trips, No puddles!
Always an important (and often expensive & architecturally restrictive) design element. We will work with the team early to establish site specific requirements and options to make sure a compliant system is incorporated in the site design, permitted expediently, and constructed per plan.
Coordinating sanitary sewer, domestic water, and fire water building points of connection and loads. Full design of site infrastructure and connections to public mains. Coordination with public utility purveyors on capacity / will-serve. Making sure your underground gravity pipe systems are not in conflict with anything else - existing or proposed.
If existing demand and capacity data is not readily available, we can prepare reports, calculations, and exhibits to determine existing infrastructure capacity, existing demand, proposed loads, and necessary upgrade improvements (if required).
How much runoff can your site expect? Is it accepting run-on from an uphill neighbor? Where is the run-off being discharged, and what is its capacity? Who owns the downstream facility, and what are their permit requirements? We will delineate tributary areas, calculate runoff, hydraulic capacity, and required hydromodification devices to satisfy permitting requirements and good engineering practice.
The dreaded City of Los Angeles B-Permit. How can such a simple street widening condition turn into such a headache? With our expertise, experience, attention to detail, and BOE staff relationships, we will make sure your B-Permit gets bonded to avoid Building Permit delays, and approved to avoid Construction Delays.
Our industry is always changing. New requirements are being introduced to code, and every project brings up unique challenges. Figuring out solutions to unique problems with complex and evolving parameters is what engineering is all about, and why we love what we do.
